Office Hours with Jessica Leung

Our upcoming Office Hours will be hosted with Jessica Leung on November 3rd, 2023. This event is open to all, but going forward will be a regular event exclusive to Diversity in Sustainability Circle members!

Our Office Hours are designed for you to hear from a seasoned sustainability professional and for you to personally ask them questions in an intimate, virtual setting.

Over an hour, Jessica will provide an overview of her career in sustainability and answer any questions you might have related to your career.

Jessica Leung is currently a Program Manager in Early Talent Diversity Programs at World Wildlife Fund (US). She partners with academic programs and institutions to create pipelines of diverse talent for the environmental and conservation field. She also manages the WWF internship program, including BRIDGE, WWF’s diversity-focused summer internship program, and implements the organization’s overall diversity, equity, and inclusion goals throughout the organization.

She previously worked in the nonprofit and private sectors specializing in electricity and thermal energy, transportation, and buildings at organizations including Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, The Nature Conservancy, Yale School of the Environment, Fundación Futaleufú Riverkeeper, Calpine, and California ISO. She collaborated with companies striving to reduce their environmental impact, published papers and blogs on technical and policy issues, and convened stakeholders with policymakers to advance action in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Jessica has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment and a Bachelor’s of Science from UC Davis.

As a first generation immigrant, she is passionate about helping underrepresented and under-resourced young people thrive in their respective fields. She regularly mentor youth and young professionals in my local community and alumni networks to help them achieve their fullest potential and maximize their impact on society. Her aim is to translate the privilege and knowledge she’s accumulated from her experiences to plant seeds for a future that is more diverse and equitable for all.
